The band started by founding member Mike Furches, (an International Blues Hall of Fame inductee as a Great Blues Artists from the state of Kansas) has rubbed shoulders both as a musician and manager with some of the top bands in the world. Managing the top show in North America in theaters 2,500 and under and having 3 of the top 10 Shows in North America in clubs 800 and under according to Performance and Poll Star Magazines. Mike knows what it takes to keep a venue and/or promoter happy. More importantly though, he knows how to entertain the patrons of those events/venues.
While there are some spiritual overtones to some of the original music, such as a U2 and other blues artists performances the shows are enjoyed by all and while Mike is a real ordained pastor, we assure you, he is quite different as one will tell right away with the tattoos, piercings hair, and especially, the beard. The album has many themes with some just plain fun songs including the song Country Nights, a hidden tune which has received some international airplay.
The CD Pastor Mike and The Demon Slayer Blues Band was recorded in Tulsa Oklahoma at Drapp Studios, the home of the original Hanson recordings with engineer Louis Drapp. The CD features real and legitimate Blues, some written during the time Mike's wife was dying of pancreatic cancer. Tens of thousands across the globe followed their story during the year and a half his wife, Mary Jane Furches fought the cancer. Four of the songs on the CD were written during that time with two being written the day she went into hospice care. There is Texas Jump Blues, Standard Blues, Country and even a taste of The Allman Brothers Southern Rock Blues on the CD, all of which are original except for the song In The Pines, a Public Domain song and Boogie Man written by founding member of Grinderswitch, Larry Howard. The CD even has some help from The Marshall Tucker Band who contributed the engineering end of the project.
The CD also includes a Christmas song many Santa's have praised. The songs video and song aired worldwide at Christmas. The bands first video, On My Knees has received over 1,000,000 views on all formats.
Presently videos from the band have been viewed over 1 Million times, their music has been played world-wide in all 50 States plus the District of Columbia and in 130+ Countries.
Mike and the band is available for press interviews via all media forms.
